Toast Interactive Reveals Meta Quest Launch Date
A New Adventure Awaits Beyond the Plank
Toast Interactive is thrilled to announce the launch of their highly anticipated VR platformer, Max Mustard, set for release on the Meta Quest Store at 1pm (PST) 21 March 2024 for US$29.99.
“After nearly four years in the making, we are so excited to be launching on Meta Quest in less than two months.” said Kylee Kay, CEO of Toast Interactive. “Our team has poured our heart and soul into Max Mustard, and we can’t wait to share it with the VR community.”

“We will be releasing Max Mustard on PlayStation VR2 and PC around mid 2024 after a few extra tweaks for those platforms” notes Kay.
Toast Interactive will showcase Max Mustard at their exhibition stand during the fast approaching Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, California from 18 – 22 March 2024, coinciding with the Meta Quest Store release date.
WHAT'S THE STORY?
Max Mustard is an inventor in pursuit of an unscrupulous businessman, Stubbins. All in the name of profit, Stubbins is kidnapping baby mudpups from their devastated parents. Facing armies of minions spanning over 40 diabolical challenges, Max is urgently requesting your help to rescue the mudpups. During the adventure, you make a friend, Bunsen, who hints at why a giant skyring was built around their dying planet.
In the end, you are faced with a dilemma when Bunsen reveals a secret about who they really are and imposes an impossible decision on you. One which could have monumental consequences.
WHAT IS MAX MUSTARD?
Max Mustard is a made-for-VR platformer with a timeless art style. Each of the 40 levels are crafted with Kishōtenketsu, a Japanese and Chinese design philosophy. With unique first-person gadgets and new surprises in every level, it’s a hard game to put down. Independent testers are saying “this is the next Mario.”
